Jennifer Hudson really stood out to me in terms of her makeup this year at the People's Choice Awards. Here is a beauty breakdown using all drugstore (high street for those in the U.K.) products:
Lets talk lips. I love that she went with a beautiful pink matte lip colour, not too shocking, but something us non-celebrity girls can get away with, even during the day- amazing!
My top choice would be the new matte chubby sticks from Revlon in the colour Unapologetic:

For a flawless, dewy complexion like Jennifer's, I would go for Rimmel's Wake Me Up Foundation. If you need more of a colour range, L'oreal's Magic Lumi Foundation is a great alternative. These foundations have light reflecting particles that give the skin a natural sheen and luminosity- great for winter months when your skin needs an extra glow.
To finish the skin and set the makeup, set it with a light dusting of powder. The finer the powder, the more seamless it will look on your skin. I gravitate towards loose powders, but a great compact powder that comes tinted or translucent is the PhotoReady Powder by Revlon.
For cheeks, J-Hud kept it simple. I would go for a beautiful semi-matte bronzer. One of my favourites is the Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer. It has a really soft-focus finish, and is buildable. For this look, I would use the bronzer on the cheeks, temples and forehead. Also across the nose- where you would naturally catch a tan if you were out in the sun.
