Bridal beauty, whether young or old, means putting your best
face forward. If you are a more mature bride, embrace your natural
beauty and take advantage of everything that makeup has to offer in
terms of skin care, emphasizing your best features, and helping those
that need it…
- Try to choose creamier products that set, so you don’t have to use a lot of powders
- Embrace products that include skin care elements.
- Graduate your makeup routine regularly to meet the needs of your skin
- Stay true to your style, but let go of the makeup you wore in your twenties.
- Take advantage of the new technologies and update your makeup regularly.
- Invest in a good eye lash curler- don’t waste your money by purchasing low quality ones over and over.
Eyes
Keep it simple- go for a haze of shadow rather than a graphic liner look. Keep your liner very close to the lash line in black or soft neutrals- charcoal, chocolate or navy- stay away from anything with too much red in it, especially if you have a lot of red in your skin already.Brows
Don’t forget about the brows- they make a huge difference, and really tie your look together. Try going a touch warmer when you fill them in. Slightly elongate the tail of your brow- it will elongate the eye area. Stay away from shimmer on the brow bone- this only really works when you’re young.Skin
Stay away from powder foundation- the older we get the more we need to add moisture to the skin. Try a cream or liquid foundation instead. Blush looks best when applied to the apples of the cheeks and slightly blended upwards. Make sure you blend your edges- blush is meant to add a youthful flush to the skin- no harsh lines of color.Lips
Cheat your lip line a bit with a nude pencil. Keep the line soft and close to your lipstick color. Nothing is more aging than a harsh lip line. Try to avoid dark plums and burgundies- softer pink and nude tones add fullness and definition. If you love a berry lip color, opt for a texture that is moisturizing and on the glossy side-
