I thought I would share some of the products that I repeatedly dip into for my own makeup from my pro kit. They range from high end to budget beauty, and a few might surprise you!
MAC Eyeshadow in Patina
One of my top five MAC eye shadows and the best go to shade when you don't know what to do for your makeup. This champagny goldy beigey colour is great for day or evening. Stick a eye primer underneath for extra lasting power (see below).
Bioderma Cleansing Water
This is my go to makeup remover and is the gentlest and most effective one I have ever used. After I discovered this product, I properly ditched all my other makeup removers (MUFE & Lancome). This cleansing water tones, refreshes, hydrates and cleanses. It really is a miracle worker.
Mascara Wands
I find a mascara wand very useful to brush the brows and comb through lashes. Groomed brows and clump free lashes polish your look every time.
Best part about these is that they are inexpensive, and if you are only using them on yourself, you can wash and reuse; or toss when your done with it.
Charlotte Tilbury Bronze and Glow
This bronzer is by far the best I have ever come across and replaced all others in my kit. It is the perfect buildable shade for very light to warm skin tones. Great as an eye crease colour and comes in a gorgeous compact with an equally beautiful buttery highlighter. Other than maybe Tom Ford, I don't think anything else will top this bad boy.
Make Up For Ever HD Translucent Powder
I always find my way back to this trusty powder, as it is a staple in my kit, and for good reason. Setting foundation with this powder is a dream, it never looks like powder, blends eyeshadow like a dream and works on every skin tone. It really is a makeup game changer.
Real Techniques Expert Face Brush
I am a big fan of these brushes, but I the Expert Face Brush takes the cake. I love buffing my foundation on with this brush, and the size is perfect for getting into the contours of the face, especially around the nose and under the eyes. Base application is just so easy with this brush and takes no time at all. Also, it is quite inexpensive for the quality, and washes really well.
MAC 217 Blending Brush
One of the best blending brushes ever, it blends eyeshadow like a dream. I also like it for blending concealer under the eyes. One of MAC's best brushes to date, you will find this brush in many a pro's kit. My only beef with this is that it starts to loose it's shape over time, but over all has a decent shelf life.
Shu Uemura Eyelash Curlers
The best eyelash curlers I have ever used. Period. You don't need to have multiple curlers laying about, so invest in one good pair. It also comes with an extra sponge. Make sure you wash this bad boy regularly along with your brushes.
Urban Decay Primer Potion
I find myself going back to this trusty eye primer, as I wasn't overly impressed with the NARS eye primer (over hyped if you ask me). Originally it came with a doe foot applicator, which has since been upgraded to a squeeze tube, which is awesome. This is another product you won't have to purchase repeatedly, so invest in a good tube.
MAC Paintpot in Groundwork
Sam from Pixiwoo turned me on to this, and I have been a fan ever since. This cream lays the foundation (ahem, groundwork!) for any eye look, especially smokey eyes. A great daytime shade as well, this basic milk chocolate brown adds the right amount of shadow to give the eyes definition. Painterly, it's vanilla cousin, is great for light eye looks.
