Brow Basics
Brows get a lot of attention, tweezing, waxing, tinting and filling in…but I feel with brows, as with makeup in general, less is more. Don’t let your brows control you! Full brows (like Scarlett) are beautiful, but they may not suit you- go with what works for you, and how much time you can realistically devote to maintenance. Here are some bridal beauty tips for brows:
- Well-placed shading, just where you need it, will do much more than just colouring your brows in so they are two thick blobs, melting off after a long day, no less.
- Go with a product that is waterproof, so the time you spend precisely filling in your brows is well spent, and lasts throughout the day and night.
- Your brows can really change (for better or for worse) how your overall face looks. Below is a face chart showing the same face with two different sets of brows:
Here is one face, with two different brow shapes. On the left the brows begin parallel to the inner tear duct. On the right, the brows begin further from the tear duct, creating a widening effect.
So, if you have wide set eyes, experiment with slightly filling in your brows parallel to your inner tear duct. Try to feather the color in, rather than creating a harsh line.
For all you bridal beauties that love a full Brooke Shields brow, here is some inspiration for you big day- note that these ladies have beautiful neutral makeup, to compliment their full brows.
