Bridal Beauty Series: Say "I Do" to Purple Wedding Makeup

 Lavender

A beautiful light shade of purple looks great against very fair skin, like Coco Rocha. A well-blended wash of colour is super flattering and easy to do. With this look, keep the rest of your makeup in the light pink/neutral family of colour. When eyes are the focus, keep lips and cheeks defined but neutral. Adding some shimmery white shadow in the centre of the eyelid will make your eyes pop.

Shimmery Purple

Purple looks great with green eyes.Scarlett’s iridescent look is definitely more of an evening look, but still fresh and playful looking. With shimmer on the eyes, keep the rest of the face fresh and dewy, but stay away from glittery bronzers and glosses. Shimmer works when it is localized, bringing light to that feature, in this case, the eyes. Black mascara adds definition. Line your water line with a creamy black pencil for a dramatic finish.

True Violet

For the bold and adventurous, a bright pop of purple is just what the doctor ordered! This could look really chic in pictures if your brides maids dresses are purple, it will contrast against the white.  Remember to add some definition to the lower lash line, like Zoe and mascara. Keep the rest of the face neutral.
Take Away Tip: Go with your own personal style, the theme of your wedding and your dress. Makeup is an accessory like anything else. Remember with a bold eye shadow purple or otherwise, to clean up fallout under the eyes and conceal well!

Plummy Lips

 Blackberry

For a berry stain on lips to stay put, try a long wear lip liner. After you have lined and filled lip in, blend the colour with a clean lip brush. This gives you a stained look, which is a modern way to wear a deep colour, like Rose. Remember to exfoliate your lips before applying colour.

Fine Wine

Jennifer wears a beautiful shade of wine lipstick, especially for her skin tone. Jennifer’s lip colour has some moisture to it,- in order to prevent colour from bleeding out of the lip line, try a reverse lip liner. The wax keeps the colour in check, while the neutral colour corrects tiny slip-ups.

Aubergine

For deep purple tones, keep the rest of your face neutral but defined- this point cannot be stressed enough. Even though the focus is on your lips, you need to balance a strong lip with defined eyes, fresh cheeks and groomed brows. Rihanna has the right idea with peachy cheeks and soft black eyeliner.
