Adele has launched quite the comeback for matte makeup. Many of the classic icons from Audrey Hepburn to Brigitte Bardot, made their faces up with velvety eye shadow and blushers sans the sparkle. Matte makeup is classic and really lends itself equally well to the vintage pin-up look of red lips and liquid liner made famous by Marylin Monroe; to the smoky eyes and nude lips of Twiggy all the way to Helena Christensen. Now to-be icons like Katy Perry and Gwen Stefani are “reinventing” these signature looks. Take a cue from the classics, but take advantage of what modern formulas have to offer.
