Bridal Beauty Series: Monochromatic Makeup

Emily Blunt

Monochromatic makeup is a great option for any bride, in particular, a bride that will be wearing a very ornate dress. This kind of makeup is very beautifying, but never looks overdone. Working with your natural undertones, if you have a lot of pink in your skin, an “English rose” type of look, with soft blush tones will look great on you. If you have a very warm or bronze skin tone, a look featuring golds or mocha shades will be very flattering. You can also work with the tones in your dress- i.e. like the picture of Emily above, her dress and makeup favour warm beige and gold tones. If you are stuck with what to do for your bridal beauty look on your big day, try a monochromatic look at your trial. It is a great place to start, and you can always add to it if you are feeling you’re bridal beauty look needs more drama.

Here are some examples of  monochromatic bridal beauty looks to inspire you:

Gwyneth Paltrow
